ZPlot was designed to create plots of any complex function, not just the basic Mandelbrot/Julia formula z^2+c. Graphs are drawn as 2D contour maps or 3D projections. ZPlot 3.26 can also draw 3D quaternions, ala Frode Gill's ray-tracing and quaternion algorithms. There are other methods included, such as Newton's method, and Paul Carlson's psuedo-3D methods. In addition to the 90 built-in formulas, a Fractint-compatible parser(with ZPlot extensions) is provided that allows you to create your own or experiment with Fractint par/frm files. ZPlot 3.26 has a par-save option(not Fractint-compatible because of the extensions) to promote sharing picture ideas among its users.
ZPlot requires Microsoft Windows, or a compatible operating system. It currently runs in 256-color mode only, at a screen resolution from 640X480 to 1024X768. A Pentium computer is recommended, with minimum speed of 60 MHZ and 8MB memory.
ZPlot is shareware, for non-commercial use only. Businesses that would like to sell ZPlot-spawned art should contact me first.
If you like the program I ask you to show your appreciation by registering your copy with me. For a small fee, registered users get a bonus pack, as well as free updates to ZPlot for a year. The yearly shareware fee for ZPlot is one hour's income(whatever that might be for you; if you're out of work, the fee is zero.)
ZPlot is freely-distributable, as long as the contents of this package remain intact. Pictures created with ZPlot may also be freely distributed, as long as they are the work of the individual user(not a builtin example.)
